His Excellency the Governor has, with the Advice of the Executive Council, granted to W. H. Mitchell, Esquire, Eighteen Months' leave of absence from this date, on Medical Certificate.

W. H. Alexander, Esquire, having duly taken the Oath prescribed by Ordinance No. 12 of 1844,

is appointed Acting Chief Magistrate of Police till further orders.

Mr. Alexander will continue to perform the duties of Registrar of the Supreme Court.
