GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Notice is hereby given, that the Surveyor General has received orders to make immediate arran- geiments for carrying into effect the conditions of the recent Sale of Land at Show-ke-wan; that is to say, with reference to the removal of Shops or other encroachments upon proposed lines of Streets, and the execution of such portions thereof, as are required to be made by the Government.

Crown Tenants, Purchasers at the above Sale on the 3d and 16th Ultimo, and Grantees of Land, are accordingly required to conform to the Boundaries of their respective Lots; and all unauthorized Persons now occupying any portion of the same, or any portion of Government Land, are to remove all materials therefrom within One Month from the present date.

Tenders will be received at the Surveyor General's Office, on or before the 15th day of February next, for the following services :-

Item 1.-Construction of Sewers of the following sizes,

Item 3.-Supply of labor for dayswork, viz: Bricklayers, Carpenters, Stone-Masons, Coolies, including supply of all implements.

Item 4.-Construction of Brick work set in mortar at per cube foot.

Extra rate for curved work.

Item 5.--Construction of Ashlar Masonry set in mortar-one side fine dressed-not exceeding 4 feet thick of rough backing as for sea-walls, at per cube foot.

Item 6.-Supply of Bricks at per thousand.

Lime at per picul.

Item 7.-Rough split stone delivered at any of the wharves, or at the Quarry at per cube foot.

Labor for rough punched work at per foot superficial.

Labor for fine dressed work at per foot superficial.

Item 8.-Construction of a Pier between Lots Nos. 101 and 2a, continuation of Ice House Road. Plans and Specifications may be seen, and any other information relative to the above obtained, upon application at the Surveyor General's Office from 10 A.M. till 3 P.M.

Item 9.-Erection of a portion of the new Gaol in the area West of the present Debtor's Prison, comprising the Inspection Hall, 2 Wings and Cook House, &c.

The Plans and Specifications for the last named service may be seen on the 6th February, and Tenders for the same received on or before Monday, the 20th February, at Noon.
