NOTICE, JELE Supreme Court will hold a NISI PRIUS Sitting on Monday the 10th day of March, A.D. 1862, at Ten o'clock in the forenoou, for the trial of SHERARD 2. DENT and others.

William Pustau, William Probst, Julius Menke, and William Van Recsema, trading under and using the name, style, or firm of William Pustau & Co., Plaintiffs. Francisco Salvador Alvarez, Defen- dant.

WHEREAS an action has been commenced in

this Court at the suit of the above named

William Pustau, William Probst, Julius Menke,

and William Van Reesema against the above named Francisco Salvador Alvarez to recover the sum of Nine thousand and six hundred Dollars for principal money upon and by virtue of two Bills of Exchange drawn by the said Defendant using the name, style, or firm of Alvarez & Co, in Hongkong upon Messrs. Frederick Huth & Co., London, for the sum respectively of £1000 each to the order of the said Plaintiffs, and which said Bills have respectively been refused payment by the said Messrs. Frederick Huth & Co., and the same has been duly protested for such non-pay- ment at a day now past. And also the sum of Three thousand Dollars for interest, exchange and re-exchange upon the said Bills and upon and for the non-payment and returu thereof, and the sum of Thirteen thousand Dollars for money lent by the said Plaintiffs to the said Defendant and for money paid by the said Plaintiffs for the use of the said Defendant at his request, and for money found to be due upon an account stated

and for work and labour done by the Plaintiffs for the Defendant, together with interest on the said sum. And it being alleged that the said Charles Jones does not reside within this Island or its Dependencies a Writ of Foreign Attachment has been issued returnable on the 17th day of March, 1862, wherein Frederick Booth is Garnishee. Notice is hereby given thereof and that if at any time before final judgment in this action the said Charles Jones or any person on his behalf will give the security and notice and file the appear- ance or plea required by the Ordinance of this Island intituled An Ordinance to provide for and regulate Process in actions at Law against persons absent from the Colony" the said attachment may be dissolved.
