NOTICE.

All persons intending to apply for Seamen's Boarding House Licenses for the year 1863-64 under Ordinance No. 6 f 1852, are to send in their applications in writing to this Office on or before Friday 20th November next, stating accurately the position of the House, and that there is an entire dwelling intervening between it and any House licensed for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors.

In measuring the rooms, strict regard will be paid to the Regulations laid down on January 1st 1855, and no License will be granted to any House that does not come within the full meaning of the Ordinance.

Before a License can be issued the applicant will be required to produce the sanction of the Chief Magistrate,

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Whereas it is expedient to construct the Praya in front of Marine Lots Nos. 83, 84, 85, 86, 87. 88, and 89,—It is hereby directed in accordance with the special terms of the Crown Leases of the above Lots, that for the general security of the Premises adjoining and for the safety and convenience of the Public, the several Tenants of the said Lots shall make arrangements amongst themselves with the concurrence of the Surveyor General for the formation of the said Praya in accordance with a Plan prepared for that purpose; and as the system hitherto carried on by them, that is to say, the construc- tion of the Praya by each tenant at his own time and convenience has proved defective and objection- able, Advertisements are to be issued for a Contract for the performance of the whole work by one or more competent builders, the Assessment of payment for each lot being determined by the Surveyor General under whose superintendence the work is to be executed; and further, for the completion of the line of Praya in front of Lots 67, 67a, and 37, the tenants of those lots shall be called upon to join their work to the work above detailed, so that the whole may be carried on simultaneously and effectively.

Tenders will be received at the Surveyor General's Office on or before the 5th Proximo for the construction of the Praya in front of Lots 67, 67a, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, and 37, in accordance with a plan and specification prepared for that purpose to be seen at the Surveyor General's Office between the hours of 11 4.M. and 3 P.M.

NOTICE.

Consignees and Masters of Ships are hereby informed that, after the 15th proximo, the Boundary, North of which Vessels shall not anchor, is as follows:--

Kellet's Island bearing EbSS.

All Ships to be properly moored with 35 fathoms chain (East and West.)

The passage between North Boundary of Man-of-war anchorage and the Kowloon Peninsula. to be kept clear. The Mail Steamers to moor near the Fort William, but South of her.

Steamers and Vessels not having any definite employment will still remain on the North side near H. M. S. Hercules.

Applications for Passage Broker's Licenses for the Year 1864, under Ordinance No. 11 of 1857, will be received at this Office from this date up to the 31st December next.

Applicants are requested to state the names and address of the Parties they offer as Sureties, under Clause 1 of the

Ordinance aforesaid.

Medical men desirous of practising under the Emigration Act and Local Emigration Ordinances are requested to send their respective Diplomas to this Office for Registration, otherwise their Certificates will not be received.
