It is hereby notified that commencing with the first Mail despatched from this Office for the United Kingdom after the 1. proximo, the whole postage on Letters sent via Marseilles will be collected entirely by the scale in operation for Letters rwarded via Southampton, and in order to cover the transit rate paid to France, 4d. up to the weight of an ounce, instead
ounce will be levied. of 3d. per
Thus the new rates of postage on Letters sent viâ Marseilles will be as follows:-
Not exceeding k oz.
1s. 4d.
Above oz. and not exceeding 1 oz. 28. 8d.
Above 1 oz. and not exceeding 2 oz. 5s. 4d.
Above 2 oz. and not exceeding 3 oz. 88.
Every ounce after the first.
28. 8d.
And a corresponding alteration will take place in the rates of postage collected in this Office on Letters sent in transit through the United Kingdom when forwarded viâ Marseilles.
