The attention of the Public is called to the provisions of the following Section of Ordinance No. 4 of 1863-

VI. From and after the passing of this Ordinance no Person shall land upon the said Island called Stone Cutters' Island except a Justice of Peace, an Officer of Police or such Persons as shall be duly authorized by an order signed by the Colonial Secretary; and no Vessel shall without sufficient reason approach to within the distance of one hundred yards from the said Island except Police Boats, Commissariat Boats, Boats belonging to Her Majesty's Ships of War, or Boats carrying Justices of the Peace or Persons employed in the service of this Government, or Persons duly authorized as above; and any Person who, contrary to this Ordinance, shall land on the said Island or shall being in any Vessel wilfully approach within the said distance from the said Island shall incur a penalty of not exceeding Five hundred Dollars.

And Notice is hereby given that the provisions of the said Section will be strictly enforced.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Sealed Tenders will be received at this Office, up to Noon on Monday the 22nd Instant, for the Privilege of slaughtering Cattle in the Western Slaughter House for the year commencing the 1st of July next.

Similar but Separate Tenders will be received for the like Privilege at the Eastern Slaughter House.

The Conditions in either case shall be such as are set forth in the Markets' Ordinance 1858, and the Bye-Laws issued thereunder, and shall be subject to such modification as may be made by any subsequent revision of that Ordinance or of those Bye-Laws.

Each Tender must be addressed to the Colonial Secretary, and state the exact amount offered as annual Rent, which Rent shall be payable monthly and in advance.

The Tender should also state the calling and residence of the party tendering, and afford similar information as to the Sureties to be offered.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

It is hereby notified that the services of a Clerk, and an Interpreter, are required by this Govern- ment for the Establishment of the Convict Hulk Royal Saxon.

The Salary of the Clerk is $576 and that of the Interpreter $384 per annum.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Notice is hereby given that Tenders will be received at the Surveyor General's Office, on or before the 15th Proximo, for the erection of the Central Police Barracks on the site of the old Gaol.

Plans and Specification may be seen on application at the Surveyor General's Office, between the hours of 11 A.M. and 3 P.M.
