Tilby to recover damages for the wrongful detention and conversion of the Plaintiffs' goods, and it being alleged that the said A. R. Tilby does not reside within the Island or its Dependencies a Writ of Foreign Attach- ment has been issued returnable on the Twenty- second day of May instant, wherein Edmund
Swith is Garnishee.
Notice is hereby given thereof and that if at any time before final judgment in this action, the said A. R. Tilby or any person on his behalf will give the security and notice and file the appearance or plea required by the Ordinance of this Island intituled An Ordinance to provide for and re- gulate Process in actions at Law against persons absent from this Colony" the said Attachment may be dissolved.

The Company has authority to grant Insurance on all Cargo conveyed by its Vessels, at a pre- mium of 1 per cent upon Merchandize, and å per cent on Treasure, from Hongkong to Lyons, Paris, London, and Holland, and proportionally for places this side of Suez.
Cargo will be received on board until 4 P.M., on the 24th of May; Specie and Parcels until 5 o'clock P.M. on the 25th.
A Written Declaration of the Contents and Value of the Packages destined beyond Suez is required by the Egyptian Government, and must be furnished by the Shippers to the Agent with the Bills of Lading; and the Company will not be responsible for any consequence or prejudice which may ensue from au incorrect declaration. For particulars respecting Freight and Passage, apply at the Company's Office, Queen's Road.

ORIENTAL BANK CORPORATION.
T having come to the knowledge of the Officers of the Corporation in China that the $25 notes of the Bank have been imitated, and that several of these forged notes have got into circu- lation: It has been resolved to cancel the present issue of $25 notes and issue new ones of a different design. In accordance with this resolution all persons are cautioned against taking any of the $25 notes of the Bank, and all holders of such notes are requested to present them at the Bank's Office in Hongkong where they will receive dol- lars for them.
