(1.) For regulating the Practice and Procedure of the Court and the several Forms of Petitions, Orders, and other Proceedings to be used in the said Court in all matters under this Ordinance.

(2.) For regulating the Duties of the various Officers of such Court.

(3.) For regulating the Fees payable and the Charges and Costs to be allowed with respect to all Proceedings before such Court.

(4.) For regulating the filing, custody and inspection of Records.

(5.) For regulating the custody of unpaid Dividends.

(6.) And generally for carrying the Provisions of this Ordinance into effect, and for appointing the Sittings of the Court.

Provided always that if any case should arise which shall not have been expressly provided for by such General Orders, but for which provision has been made by the General Orders framed in pursuance of "The Bankruptcy Act, 1861," the Chief Justice may in his discretion apply to such case any of the General Orders so framed as last aforesaid.

VIII. After such General Orders shall have been so framed, they or any of them in like manner be rescinded or varied, and other General Orders may be framed in manner as aforesaid..

As to the Definition and Explanation of Terms.

IX. The Terms and Words hereinafter enumerated or explained wheresoever occurring in this Ordinance shall be understood as hereinafter defined or explained, unless it be otherwise specially provided, or there be something in the subject or context repugnant to such definition or explanation, that is to say:

"Annulling" shall mean also "Superseding."

Assignee" shall mean the Assignee of the Estate and Effects of the Bankrupt or Petitioner, chosen by the Creditors, and until such Assignee shall be chosen, or where no such Assignee, shall mean the Official Assignee.

"Bankrupt" shall mean any Person who shall have been under any former Ordi- nance adjudged insolvent or who shall be under the provisions of this Ordinance, adju- dicated bankrupt.

"Adjudication" shall mean Adjudication of Bankruptcy."

"The Court" shall mean the Supreme Court exercising Jurisdiction in Bankruptcy.

"The Registrar" shall mean the Registrar of the Supreme Court exercising Ju- risdiction in Bankruptcy.

"Creditor" shall mean also any two or more Persons being Partners, and incor- porated and Joint Stock Companies.

"Creditors present at any Meeting" shall include Creditors who are represented by some Person duly authorised by any such Creditor.

"Gaoler" shall include the Keeper or Superintendent of any Gaol or Prison.
