"The BANK OF HINDUSTAN, CHINA ANDJAPAN, LIMITED, Plaintiffs,

and BYRAMJEE HORMUSJEE CAMA, trading under the name, style or firm of H. B. CAMA and Company, Defendant.

HEREAS an Action has been commenced in this Court at the suit of the above named Bank of Hindustan, China and Japan, Limited, against the above named Byramjee Hormusjee Cama, trading as aforesaid, to recover the sum of Fifty-three thousand Dollars for that the Defendant trading as aforesaid by his two several Bills of Exchange directed to Messieurs Byramjee Cama and Son required the said Mes- sieurs Byramjee Cama and Son to pay to his order the respective sums of £5,000 and £5,000 six months' after sight and the Defeudant en- dorsed the said Bills of Exchange and delivered them to the said Plaintiffs and the said Messieurs Byramjee Cama and Son accepted the said Bills on the 27th day of April, 1869, but did not pay the same and by reason thereof the Plaintiffs incurred expenses in and about the presenting and noting the said two Bills and incidental to the dishonor thereof respectively and for money payable by the Defendant to the Plaintiffs for interest upon money due from the Defendant to the Plaintiffs and forborne at interest by the Plaintiffs to the Dendant at his request and for money due from the Defendant to the Plaintiff's on accounts stated between them.

And it being alleged that the said Byramjee Hormusjec Cama trading as aforesaid does not reside within this Island or its Dependencies a Writ of Foreign Attachment has been issued re- turnable on the Sixteenth day of January next, wherein Pestoujee Aspundiarjee Metta and also Alfred Farley Heard and George Farley Heard, the resident partners of Augustine Heard and Company, of Victoria aforesaid, Merchants, are Garnishees, Notice is hereby given and that if at any than before final judgment in this Action the said Byramjee Hormusjge Cama trading as aforesaid or any person on his behalf will give the security and notice and file the appearance

Applications for the Purchase of the above to be inade, on or before the 18th day of January next, to the undersigned, from whom all infor- mation, respecting the extent of the Business, and amount of the Stock, may be obtained.

NOTICE. IRCUMSTANCES have occurred in Bombay to induce me to resume the Family business connexion in that City established nearly a Century ago by my Grand-Uncle, the late John Forbes, Esq. of Newe, and continued by my Father, the late Sir Charles Forbes, up to the period of his death in 1849. With that object in view I have arranged to establish a House in Bombay under the designation of "SIR CHARLES FORBES & Co." for the conducting of Banking and Agency business only.

My Partners are Mr. HENRY FORMAN, of Bom- bay; my son Mr. GEORGE STEWART FORBES, of Aslown, Aberdeenshire; Mr, ANDREW JOHN MACDONALD, for some years a confidential assistant of Messrs. Forbes, Forbes & Co.; and Mr. HENRY RANDALL CORMACK, son of the late Mr. Heury Cormack, Merchant, Bombay. The resident Partners in Bombay will be Mr. FORMAN, Mr. MACDONALD, and Mr. CORMACK.
