AMES BAKER of Victuria in the Colony of Hongkong, Laborer, having been adjudged Bankrupt under a petition for adjudication of Bankruptcy, filed in the Supreme Court of Hong- kong, in Bankruptcy on the 28th day of August One thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, is hereby required to surrender himself to the Acting Registrar of the said Court, at the first meeting of Creditors, to be held before the said Acting Registrar on the Fifteenth day of September instant at 11 o'clock in the forenoon precisely, at the said Court. Mr. Norman Ramsay Masson
· is the Official Assignee and Mr. Francis Innes Hazeland is the Solicitor Acting in the Bankruptcy. A public sitting will be appointed by the Court for the said Bankrupt to pass bis last examina- tion, of which sitting due notice will be given in the Hongkong Government Gazette. At the first meeting of Creditors the Acting Registrar

NOTICE.
ADWARD CARPENTER, of Victoria, in the Colony of Hongkong, Apothecary, having been adjudged Bankrupt under a petition for adjudication of Bankruptcy, filed in the Supreme Court of Hongkong in Bankruptcy, on the 30th day of August, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, is hereby required to surrender himself to the Acting Registrar of the said Court at the first Meeting of Creditors, to be held before the said Acting Registrar on the Fifteenth day of Sep- tember instant, at Eleven o'clock in the forenoon precisely, at the said Court. Mr. Norinan Ramsay Masson is the Official Assignee, and Mr. Francis Innes Hazeland is the Solicitor acting in the Bankruptcy.
A public sitting will be appointed by the Court for the said Bankrupt to pass his last examination, of which sitting due notice will be given in the Hongkong Government Gazette. At the first Meeting of Creditors the Acting Registrar will receive the proofs of the debts of the Creditors, and the Creditors may choose an Assignee or Assignees of the Bankrupt's Estate and Effects.
At the public sitting, proofs of debts of Cre- ditors will also be received and the said Bankrupt will be required to submit himself to be examined,
in this Court at the suit of the above named William Marshall Davidson against the above named Byramjee Hormusjee Cama, trading as aforesaid, to recover the sum of Twenty-six Thousand Dollars for that the Defendant trading as aforesaid by his Bill of Exchange directed to Messieurs Byramjee Cama and Son required the said Messieurs Byramjee Cama and Son to pay to his order the sum of Five Thousand Pounds Sterling six months after sight, and the Defendant endorsed the said Bill of Exchange and delivered it to the said Plaintiff, and the said Messieurs Byramjee Cama and Son accepted the said Bill on the third day of January One thousand eight Lundred and sixty-five, but did not pay the same and by reason thereof the Plaintiff incurred ex- penses in and about the presenting and noting the Said Bill and incidental to the dishonor thereof; and for money payable by the Defendant to the Plaintiff for interest upon money due from the Defendant to the Plaintiff and forborne at interest by the Plaintiff to the Defendant at his request and for money due from the Defendant to the Plaintiff on accounts stated between them; and it being alleged that the said Byramjee Hornusjee Cama, trading as aforesaid, does not reside within the Island of Hongkong or its dependencies, a Writ of Foreign Attachment has been issued returnable on the Sixteenth day of September next, wherein Pestonjee Aspundiarjee Metta and George Farley Heard are Garnishees.
Notice is hereby given thereof and that if at any time before final judgment in this action the said Byramjee Horinusjee Cama, trading as aforesaid, or any person on his behalf will give the security and notice and file the appearance or plea required by the Ordinance of this Island intituled An Ordinance to provide for and re- gulate process in Actions at Law against persons absent from the Colony," the said Attachment may be dissolveil.

the Company's Steam-ship ALPHEE," Commandant DE L'ESCAILLE, H. I. M. N., with Her Britannic Majesty's Mails, Passengers, Specie and Cargo, will leave this Port for the above places corresponding: -
At Galle, with one of the British India Steam Navigation Company's Steamers for Bombay;
At Messina, with the Company's Seni-weekly Mail Steamers for Malta and all the Italian Ports; At Marseilles, with the Weekly Company's Mail Steamer for Valencia and by Railroad to Madrid.
Cargo and Specie will be registered for Lon- don as well as for Marseilles, and accepted in transit through Marseilles for the principal places of Europe.
The Company has authority to grant Insur- ance on all Cargo conveyed by its Vessels, at a premium of 1 per cent upon Merchandize, and 1 per cent on Treasure, from Hongkong to Lyons, Paris, London, and Holland, and pro- portionally for places this side of Suez.
Cargo will be received on board until 4 o'clock of the 21st September, Specie and Parcels until 5 o'clock of the 22nd.
A Written Declaration of the Contents and Value of the Packages destined beyond Suez is required by the Egyptian Government, and must be furnished by the Shippers to the Agent with the Bills of Lading; and the Company will not be responsible for any consequence or prejudice which may ensue from an incorrect declaration. For particulars respecting Freight and Pas- sage, apply at the Company's Office, Queca's Road.
