Five Miles, to be deciued

United States of North America or of the States calling themselves the Confederate Waters of this Colony States of America, whilst such Ship of War or Privateer is within the Waters of this or within a Distance of Colony, or within any Distance from this Colony not exceeding Five Miles, any Arms, a Misdemeanor. Ammunition, Gunpowder or Naval or Military Stores or shall, within this Colony or the Waters thereof put on Board, or shall contract or agree to put on Board, or shall id or assist in putting on Board, or shall cause or procure to be put on Board of any Vessel, Boat, Sampan or other Craft, any Arms, Ammunition, Gunpowder or Naval or Military Stores, with the Intent and Design that the same may be conveyed to any such Ship of War or Privateer as aforesaid, whilst such Ship of War or Privateer is in the Waters of this Colony aforesaid or within the Distance from this Colony aforesaid, shall be guilty of a Misdemeanor and, being convicted thereof, shall be liable at the Discretion of the Court to be imprisoned for any Term not exceeding Two Years.

II. Whosoever shall, within this Colony or the Waters thereof, without the Leave Furnishing Coals, or License of the Governor for that Purpose first had and obtained, knowingly furnish or &c., to Ships of War, supply or knowingly contract or agree to furnish or supply, or knowingly cause or &c., of either Bellige procure to be furnished or supplied to, or for the Use of, any Ship of War or Privateer Waters of this Colony of the United States of North America or of the States calling themselves the Confeder- or within a Distance ate States of America whilst such Ship of War or Privateer is within the Waters of the this Colony, or within any Distance from this Colony not exceeding Five Miles, Coal or a Misdemeanor. other Article or shall within this Colony or the Waters thereof without such Leave or License as aforesaid, put on Board, or contract or agree to put on Board, or aid or assist in putting on Board, or cause or procure to be put on Board of any Vessel, Boat, Sampan or other Craft any Coal or other Article with the Intent and Design that the same may be conveyed to any such Ship of War or Privateer as aforesaid whilst such Ship of War or Privateer is in the Waters of this Colony aforesaid or within the Distance from this Colony aforesaid, shall be guilty of a Misdemeanor and, being convicted thereof, shall be liable at the Discretion of the Court to be imprisoned for any Term not exceeding Two Years.

III. In the Construction, and for the Purposes of this Ordinance, the Term "other Interpretation Clause. Article," as used in the second Section hereof, shall apply to, and comprehend, all Articles other than and except Arms, Ammunition, Gunpowder and Naval and Military Stores.

An Ordinance to repeal certain Enactments which have been consolidated in several Ordinances relating to Criminal Offences.

Whereas by virtue of Ordinance No. 6 of 1845, and Ordinance No. 2 of 1846, divers Acts and Parts of Acts of the Imperial Parliament made and passed prior to the Fifth Day of April, One thousand Eight hundred and Forty-three, are in Force in this Colony, notwithstanding the same have been repealed by the Imperial Parliament; And hereas by Five several Ordinances relating respectively to Offences against the Person, Malicious Injuries to Property, Larceny, Forgery, and Accessories And Abettors,

a large Portion of the Matter contained in the said Acts and Parts of Acts, as also in several local Enactments, has been consolidated and amended; And it is therefore expedient to limit the Operation of the Ordinances firstly hereinbefore mentioned,

so as to exclude therefrom the Acts and Parts of Acts so repealed, and to peal the said local Enactments to the Extent specified in the Schedule hereto annexed : He it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:
