PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency SIR HERCULES GEORGE ROBERT ROBINSON, Knight, Governor and Commander- in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Adiniral of the saine.
Whereas the Commands of Her Most Gracious Majesty The QUEEN, conveyed through The Right Honourable EDWARD CARDWELL, M. P., Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, have been received, approving of and confirming the following Ordinances; namely:-
No. 5 of 1864, entitled-“An Ordinance to ammend the Law of Debtor and Creditor;"
No. 9 of 1864, entitled "An Ordinance to authorize the Commissioners appointed to compile a
New Edition of the Ordinances to make certain alterations therein;”
No. 10 of 1864, entitled-"An Ordinance for preventing Frauds upon Creditors by Secret Bills
of Sale of Personal Chattels ;"
No. 11 of 1864, entitled "An Ordinance for consolidating and amending the Laws relative to
Jurors and Juries;"
No. 12 of 1864, entitled "An Ordinance to facilitate the Remedies on Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes by the Prevention of frivolous or fictitious Defences to Actions
thereon ;"
No. 13 of 1864, entitled-"An Ordinance to ammend the Laws of Trade and Commerce:" Now, therefore, it is hereby declared, that the said Ordinances have been so approved and confirmed, as aforesaid.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
The following Despatch from Her Majesty's Consul at Bangkok, from which the Mercantile Community will learn that an Interdict is laid on the Export of Rice from Siam, is published for general information.
