GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Sealed Tenders will be received at this Office, up to Noon of Wednesday the 26th Instant, for the Privilege of slaughtering Cattle in the Western Slaughter House for the year commencing the 1st of July next.

Similar but Separate Tenders will be received for the like Privilege at the Eastern Slaughter House. The conditions in either case shall be such as are set forth in "The Markets Ordinance 1858," and "The Markets Ordinance 1867," and the Bye-Laws issued thereunder, and shall be subject to such modifications as may be made by any subsequent revision of those Ordinances, or of those Bye-Laws.

Each Tender must be addressed to the Colonial Secretary, and state the exact amount offered as Annual Rent, which Rent shall be payable monthly and in advance.

The Tender should also state the calling and residence of the party tendering, and afford similar information as to the Sureties to be offered.

It is hereby notified that henceforth all Public Offices under this Government, with the exception of the General Post Office, will be closed, as a rule, at half past 1 P.M. on the Saturday in each week.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

The New Edition of the Ordinances of Hongkong having been received from home, and placed according to Clause 5 of No. 7 of 1864 in the Colonial Treasury, it is hereby notified that for the convenience of the Public copies of the same reserved for sale are deposited with Mr. D. NORONHA, the Government Printer, from whom they may be obtained at the cost of $5 a Copy.

A List of Errata is prepared, and will be issued gratis to the purchaser of each Copy.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

POLICE, LIGHTING AND WATER RATES.

The Owners of Tenements assessed to the Police, Lighting and Water Rates for the current year are reminded that the Rates for the Second quarter are payable at the Treasury during the present month on or before the 30th instant; after which date the Rates unpaid are recoverable by application for Summary Warrants to the Court of Summary Jurisdiction.
