THE HONGKONG GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, 3RD OCTOBER, 1868.

An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to amend Ordinance No. 11 of 1844, and to enable the Justices of the Peace to grant Licenses for the sale of Fermented and Spirituous Liquors by Hotel Keepers Restaurateurs and Confectioners.

Whereas it is expedient to amend the Law relating to the Licensing of Public Houses and to give power to Justices of the Peace to grant Licenses for the sale by retail of Fermented and Spirituous Liquors by Persons carrying on the business of Hotel Keepers, Restaurateurs and Confectioners. Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

I. There shall be added to Section II of Ordinance No. 11 of 1844 the Words, Section 2 of excepting in such cases wherein it may be desirable to grant Licenses, for a shorter Ordinance No. 11 of period than One Year in order that, such Licenses shall always expire on the 30th "November."

III.
