OTICE. LOAW-WAH-THIAW, of Victoria in the Colony of Hongkong, Merchant, formerly trading in co-partnership under the style of Yi-Hop-Fat, and afterwards in co- partnership under the style of Tye-Sing-Hong, having been adjudged Bankrupt under a Fetition for adjudication of Bankruptcy, filed in this Court on the Fourth day of August, One thou- sand Eight hundred and Sixty-eight, is hereby required to surrender himself to the Honorable William Hastings Alexander, Esquire, the Re- gistrar of the said Court, at the first Meeting of Creditors, to be held before the said Registrar, on the Nineteenth day of August, One thousand Eight hundred and Sixty-right, at three of the clock in the afternoon precisely, at the said Court.

Frederick Sowley Huffam, Esquire, is the Official Assignee, and Mr. Francis Innes Haze- land is the Solicitor acting in the Bankruptcy.

At this Meeting the said Registrar will receive the proofs of the Debts of the Creditors, and the Creditors may choose an Assignee or Assignees of the Bankrupt's Estate and Effects.

All persons having in their possession any of the Effects of the said Bankrupt must deliver them to the said Official Assignee, and all Debts due to the Bankrupt must be paid to the said Official Assignee, and give notice thereof to the Solicitor acting in the Bankruptcy.

HEREAS an Action has been commenced in this Court at the suit of the above named Frederick Sowley Huffam, against the above named Lao-wah-ting, to recover the sum of Two thousand Five hundred Dollars for money payable by the Defendant to the Plaintiff, for Goods sold and delivered by the Bankrupt to the Defendant, and for money lent by the Bank- rupt to the Defendant, and for money paid by the Bankrupt for the Defendant at his request, and for mouey received by the Defendant for-the use of the Bankrupt, and for interest upon money due from the Defendant to the Bankrupt, and forborne at interest by the Bankrupt to the Defendant at his request, and for money found to be due from the Defendant to the Bankrupt on accounts stated between them; and it being alleged that the said Lao-wah-ting does not reside within this Island or its Dependencies, a Writ of Foreign Attachment has been issued, returnable on the Twenty-fourth day of August, instant, wherein J. J. Witt, Master of the Siamese Brig or Vessel "Amoy," is Garnishee.

Notice is hereby given thereof, and that if at any time before final judgment in this Action the said Lao-wah-ting, or auy person on his behalf, will give the security and notice, and file the appearance or plea required by the Ordinance of this Island, intituled "An Ordinance to provide for and regulate process in Actions at Law against persons absent from the Colony," the said Attach- ment may be dissolved.

WHEREAS an Action has been commenced

wherein Nuhmens, Master of the Siamese Vessel "Success," and Yeong-hoy-long, Manager of the Yu-cheong-Hong, are Garnishecs.

BOMBAY, PONDICHERRY, MADRAS, AND CALCUTTA. Sunday, the 23rd instant, at 2 P.M., the "IMPERA- TRICE," Commandant MACAIRE, with Mails, Passengers, Specie and Cargo, will leave this Port for the above places.

Cargo and Specie will be registered for London as well as for Marseilles, and accepted in transit through Marseilles for the principal places of Europe.

Cargo will be received on board until 4 P.M. of the 21st Instant, Specie and Parcels until 5 P.M. of the 22nd Instant. (Parcels are not to be
