With a view to the general convenience of the Mercantile Community, and to the better security. of the Correspondence posted during the night preceding departure of each fortnightly P. & O. Mail for Europe, His Excellency the GOVERNOR has directed that the Post Office be kept open during the night preceding the departure of every Mail aforesaid, and that there shall be a Clerk in attendance. Instead of the Night Box formerly affixed to the railings Letters and Newspapers can in future be posted in the second Pier from the South West Corner of the Verandah of the Post Office,-the Box for receipt of Newspapers and Correspondence so posted being placed within the main wall of the building.

Made by His Excellency Governor SIR RICHARD GRAVES MACDONNELL, C.B. in Council, this 9th Day of June, 1868.

1. It is hereby ordered, that the Orders of the Governor in Council of the 28th September, 1867, the 4th October, 1867, the 18th October, 1867, and the 9th April, 1868, shall be and they are hereby revoked, from and after the 1st day of July now next ensuing, being the date fixed by Proclamation of the Governor for the coming into operation of Ordinance No. 5 of 1868; and in lieu thereof, it is ordered that the Stamps to be used under Ordinance No. 12 of 1866, and Ordinance No. 5 of 1868, shall be, from and after the last mentioned date,-
