An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, for amending the Law relating to the Granting of Pensions and other Allowances to the Police Force.

Whereas it is expedient to amend the Law relating to the Granting of Retiring Pensions and other Allowances to Members of the Police Force; Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

I. Sections XI and XII of Ordinance No. 9 of 1862 shall be repealed from the of Ordinance No. 9 of time that this Ordinance comes into operation except as to any Right acquired 'thereunder by any Officers or Men whose Services may have been accepted by the Govern- ment for a second period of Five Years, as mentioned in the said Sections hereby repealed.

II. Subject to the Provision hereinbefore contained, it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from Time to Time to regulate the General Conditions upon which, &c., subject as above and the manner in which Pensions, Superannuation Allowances, or other Relief, are to be granted to Members of the Police Force and to determine in each particular case whether there shall or shall not be granted to any Member of the Police Force, a Pension, Superannuation Allowance, or other Relief, and in the event of the Governor in Council determining that there shall be granted to any Member of the Police Force, a Pension, Superannuation Allowance, or other Relief to further determine the Amount to be paid in respect thereof and the terms on which and the manner in which the same shall be paid.

III. If at any time after the granting of a Pension whether now existing or hereafter to be granted to any Member of the Police Force it be proved to the satisfaction of the Governor in Council that the Person to whom such Pension may have been granted had been guilty of any corrupt practices in the execution of his office either by receiving bribes or by inducing or compelling payment directly or indirectly of any valuable consideration to himself or to any other party or by otherwise acting corruptly in the execution of or under color of his Office as a Member of the Police, then in every such case it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council to revoke and annul the grant of such Pension and no claim to any further payment on account of a Pension declared to be revoked as aforesaid shall be valid.

IV. This Ordinance shall commence and take effect on such Day as shall hereafter be fixed by Proclamation under the hand of the Governor.
