GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office, until Noon on Tuesday, the 28th instant, for supplying the undermentioned Articles of Provisions to the Police Force for Six Months:-
Dholl, Rice, and Fish, (dry salted), and Ghee per pecul. The Articles must be of good quality, deliverable at the Central Police Barracks at such times and in such quantities as may be required.
Samples to be produced at the time of opening the Tenders.
Any further information may be obtained on application at the Office of the Captain Superintend- ent of Police.
The right of rejecting the whole or any particular Tender is reserved.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
It is hereby notified that under the Provisions of Ordinance No. 11 of 1844, Thursday, the 28th Day of October next, is fixed for a Special Sessions of the Justices of the Peace, to be held at the Police Magistrates Office, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon of that day, for the purpose of considering Applications for Licenses for the sale of Spirituous and Fermented Liquors during the year commence ing on 1st December next.
Applications for such Licenses must be lodged at the Police Magistrates' Office at least Ten Days before the Sessions, in the form prescribed in the said Ordinance, and no Application will, after that period, be received for submission to the Sessions.
Printed Forms of Applications may be obtained by intending Applicants at the Police Magis- trates' Office between the hours of 10 A.M. and 4 P.M.

The following Letter from the United States Consul, respecting Ships carrying Chinese Passengers from Hongkong to Ports in the United States, is published for general information.

UNITED STATES CONSULATE, HONGKONG, September 10th, 1869. SIR,-I beg leave to state for your information that, hereafter, all Ships, of whatever Nationality, sailing hence to a Port in the United States, carrying Chinese Passengers, will be required to produce the Certificate of the U. S. Consul at this Port to the Collector of Customs at the Port of destination, attesting the voluntary character of such emigration, before such Vessel will be permitted to make entry.
