At the request of the Government of Bombay, the following Notice to Mariners is published for general information.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

The Master Attendant, Bombay, hereby notifies for general information that, on and after the 1st day of May 1870 a Flag Staff (with yard) 200 feet above sea level will be erected on the Island of Kennery at the entrance to the Port, in Latitude 18° 42′ 20′′ North and Longitude 72° 48′ 50′′ East, and distant about 260 feet and bearing N. E. N. from the centre of Light House Tower.

The following Notice to Mariners, received from the Surveyor General of Western Australia, is published for general information.

IMPORTANT TO MARINERS.

PERTH, WEST AUSTRALIA,

27th April, 1869.

In order to remove all doubt as to the existence of a sunken danger about 52 miles true West by South from the west end of Rottnest Island, as reported in June, 1864, by the commander of the schooner "Beaver," and then called "Beaver Reef, "-it is hereby notified that the said reef is reported by Mr. Laing, commanding the schooner "Gift," to have been seen by him on the 15th instant, breaking heavily, in very nearly the position above indicated.

The reef appeared to extend about half a mile in a North and South direction, and soundings were had in 15 to 18 fathoms water a quarter of a mile from its south end.
