GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

His Excellency Major-General WHITFEILD, Commanding Her Majesty's Troops in China and Japan, and Lieutenant-Governor of Hongkong and its Dependencies, has been pleased to direct that the Holidays customary at the approaching Season shall be kept from Thursday, the 22nd, to Saturday, the 24th instant, both days inclusive.

With reference to Government Notification No. 160 of the 9th instant, it is hereby made known that the QUEEN's Exequatur empowering DAVID H. BAILEY, Esquire, to act as Consul at Hongkong for the United States of America received Her Majesty's Signature on the 21st of October, 1870.
