NOTICE.
HE next Criminal Sessions of the Supreme Court will be held on Tuesday, the Eighteenth day of October, A.D. 1870, at Ten o'clock in the forenoon.
By Order of the Court,
examination, of which sitting notice will be given in the Hongkong Government Gazetie.
At the first Meeting of Creditors, the Registrar will receive the proofs of the Debts of Creditors, and the Creditors may choose an Assignee or As- signees of the Bankrupt's Estate and Effects.
At the public Sitting, proofs of debts of Cre- ditors will be received and the Bankrupt will be required to subunit himself to be examined, and to make a full disclosure and discovery of all his Estate and Effects, and to finish his examination.
Notice is also hereby given to all persons in- debted to the said Bankrupt or that have any of his Effects, not to deliver the same but to the Official Assignee.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF HONGKONG IN BANKRUPTCY.
NOTICE-WM. SCHMIDT, in the Colony of
Hongkong, Gun-maker, baving been adjudged Bankrupt under a Petition for adju- dication of Bankruptcy, filed in the Supreme Court of Hongkong in Bankruptcy, on the Third day of October, 1870, is hereby required to surrender himself to William Hastings Alex- ander, Esquire, the Registrar of the said Court, at the first Meeting of his Creditors, to be held before the said Registrar on the Twenty-fourth day of October instant, at Eleven o'clock in the forenoon precisely, at the said Court.
William Hastings Alexander, Esquire, is the Official Assignee.
A Public Sitting will be appointed by the said Court for the said Bankrupt to pass his final

HEREAS an Action has been commenced in this Court at the suit of the above named Hermann Melchers and Adolf André against the above named J. J.' Kam to recover the sum of Two thousand and Five hundred Dollars damages for the illegal detention of certain goods and chattels belonging to the said Hermanu Melchers and Adolf André and it being alleged that the said J. J. Kam does not reside within this Island or its dependencies a writ of Foreign Attachment has been issued returnable on the Thirty-first day of October instant, wherein C. G. A. von Lindern, of Victoria in the Island of Hongkong, Master Mariner, is Gar- nishee.
Notice is hereby given thereof and that if at any time before final judgment in this Action the said J. J. Kam or any person on his behalf will give the security and notice and file the ap- pearance or plea required by the Ordinance of this Island entituled "An Ordinance to provide for and regulate process in Actions at Law against Persons absent from the Colony," the said at- tachment may be dissolved.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hi Excellency The Lieutenant-Governor has ap. pointed. Wednesday, the 26th Instant, at 3 o'clock of the afternoon for a Sitting of the Exe- cutive Council at the Offices of the Government Petitions, and that at such sitting of the Counci for the purpose of entertaining the said several applications will be made for such Letters Patent as aforesaid.
