The Bill for the Maintenance of good Order, and the Protection of Property in Public Buildings, Gardens, and other Places is read a Second time, committed and passed, bearing the Title of Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council there to make Regulations for the Maintenance of good Order and the Protection of Property in Puli Buildings, Gardens, and other Places,”-being “No. 8 of 1870.”
The Bill to make further Provision in relation to the Administration of the Estate and Effects of Decevi Persons is read a Second time, amended in Committee, and passed, bearing the Title of Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Counc thereof, to amend Ordinance No. 8 of 1860, and to make further Provision in relation to 1. Administration of the Estate and Effects of Deceased Persons,"--being "No. 9 of 1870." The Bill for Compensating the Families of Persons killed by Accidents arising from Negligence is rent a Second time, committed, and passed, bearing the Title of "An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, for compensating the Families of Persons killed by Accidents arising from Negligence,”-being "No. 10 of 1870." An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to amend the Law respecting the Liabilities of Inn- keepers.

Preamble. Liability of Innkeepers: Be it enacted by the Governor
HEREAS it is expedient to amend the Law respecting the
Short Title.
Interpretation Clause.
General
Limitation of
Innkeeper's Liability,
of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
I. This Ordinance may be cited as the "The Innkeepers' Liabi- lity Ordinance, 1870."
II. In the Interpretation of this Ordinance, the Word "Inn” shall mean any Hotel, Inn or other. Place of Refreshment, the Keeper of which is now by Law responsible for the Goods and Property of his Guests, and the Word " Innkeeper" shall mean the Keeper of any such Place and shall include a Public Company, III. From and after the Passing of this Ordinance, an Innkeeper shall in no Case be liable to make good to his Guest, any Loss of or Injury to Goods or Property brought to his Inn, by such Guest unless the same shall have been stolen, lost, or injured through the wilful Act, Default, or Neglect of such Innkeeper or any
