Fixed Light on Krishna Shoal.
The light exhibited from the screw pile light-house in three fathoms at low water on the south-eastern edge to Krishna Shoal, is a feed white light, visible from E.N.E. round by north and west to S.S.W., elevated 60 feet above k water, and in clear weather should be seen from a distance of 14 miles.
The illuminating apparatus is dioptrie or by lenses of the second order.
Position of the light-house, lat. 15° 30′ 30′′ N., long. 95° 35′ east from Greenwich.
In foggy weather a bell will be sonaded every half minute.
Note. This light is intended to enable vessels to avoid the danger of the Baragou Flat and Krishna Shoal. us proaching from the westward, a vessel should keep in not less than seven fathoms until the light bears N. W and then shape a course N. E. by N. or N. E., (according to set of tide) for China Buckeer Light. Ve from the northward must not get into less than six fathoms, or bring the light to bear southward of S. W. E W. ! W.
No vessel should approach within five miles of the light-house.
Revolving Light at China Buckeer.
The light from the screw pile light-house, about three miles northeast from the mouth of the Buckeer River, is a recolti, light, attaining its greatest brilliancy every minute, and in clear weather should be seen from a distance of 15 miles.
The illuminating apparatus is dioptric or by lenses of the first order.
The tower is situated on the land of China Buckeer, close to high water mark; the lower part of the tower, seen agains the dark trees, is painted white; it is in lat. 16° 19′ 30′′ N, long. 90° 12′ E.
Fixed Light at Eastern Grove.
The light from the screw pile light-house, near Eastern Grove, east side of the entrance of Rangoon River, is a fired light, visible between the bearings north and N. E. by E. 1 E., having a more intense light visible five degrees on either side of the position of the light vessel, the centre bearing N. N. E. E.; in clear weather the more intense light should be seen from a distance of 16 miles, and the other 12 miles.
Position of the tower, lat. 16° 29′ N., long 96° 20′ 30′′ east.
Directions.--Steer so as to make China Buckeer Light between the bearings of N. by E. and W. by N., and when Eastern Grove Light bears N. N. E. § E., the China Buckeer Light may be brought to bear west, which position is on the pilot station. Vessels should anchor until daylight or until a pilot is obtained.

His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that from and after the 1st September next, no Signals will be made or answered from any of the Signal Stations in this Colony, except by means of the International Code of Signals.

Owners of Tenements assessed to the Police, Lighting, Water and Fire Brigade Rates, are informed that the Rates are payable in advance during and within the month of July, for the Third Quarter of the year 1870.
The attention of Rate Payers is drawn to the Second Clause of Ordinance No. 9 of 1869, which Clause specifies that in Default in the Payment of Rates, such arrears may be sued for by the Colonial Treasurer in the Court of Summary Jurisdiction and a Certificate under the hand of the Treasurer, setting forth the particulars of the sums due for Rates and then outstanding, shall be "Prima facie' evidence of the Facts certified by the Treasurer.
Rate Payers are therefore informed that all Rates in arrear after the 31st July, 1870, will be sued for in accordance with the Provisions of the Clause and Ordinance specified above.
