PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency SIR RICHARD GRAVES MACDONNELL, Knight, and Companion of the Most rable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.

Whereas the Commands of Her Most Gracious Majesty The QUEEN, conveyed through The Right 1orable Earl GRANVILLE, K.G., Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, have been received, approving of and confirming the following Ordinance; namely:-

No. 3 of 1869, entitled-An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to empower His Excellency the Governor in Council to grant Licenses for the Distillation of Spirits and the Rectifying and Compounding thereof within the Colony:

Now, therefore, it is hereby declared, that the said Ordinance has been so approved and confirmed, * aforesaid.

An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to amend the Laws relating to the Admission by the Supreme Court of Barristers, Attorneys, Soli- citors, and Proctors, to practise in the Colony, and to provide for the Enrolment of Public Notaries.

HEREAS it is expedient to amend the Laws relating to

Wthe Admission by the Supreme Court of Barristers, At- torneys, Solicitors, and Proctors, to practise in the Colony, and to provide for the Enrolment of Public Notaries; Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:--

Preamble

I. Section X of Ordinance No. 6 of 1845, and Ordinance No. Repeal of Section X 13 of 1856, are hereby repealed: Provided always that, as of Ordi- regards all Persons, who on the 1st Day of January, 1870, had uauce No. 6 served or were in course of serving any of the Qualifications of 1815 and of specified in Section I of Ordinance No. 13 of 1856, the said last Ordinance No.

13 of 1860. mentioned Ordinance, and Section X of Ordinance No. 6 of 1815,

Saving Clause. shall remain in Force as if the sume had not been hereby repealed.
