Regulation made by the Governor-in-Council, under Section 5 of the Dogs Ordinance, 1893, (Ordinance No. 5 of 1893), this 10th day of October, 1907.

Regulation 2 of the regulations made by the Governor-in-Council on the 20th day of March, 1899, is hereby amended by the insertion after the word "owner" in the third line thereof of the following proviso:-

Provided that if the Colonial Veterinary Surgeon, or in his absence from the Colony the officer acting in his behalf, is satisfied that the certificate des- cribed in sub-section (a) of Regulation 1 has not been supplied owing to ignorance of the local law on the part of the importer, and he is satisfied fürther after due enquiry that there is no reasonable fear of the dog having been exposed to any danger of contracting Rabies during the six months prior to date of shipment, a certificate under the hand of the Colonial Veterinary Surgeon may be accepted by the Captain Superintendent of Police in lieu of the certificate described in sub-section (a) of Regulation 1."

Regulation made by the Governor-in-Council, under Section 3 of the Licensing Ordinance, 1887, (Ordinance No. 8 of

1887), this 10th day of October, 1907.

Regulation No. 2 of the regulations made by the Governor-in-Council on the 24th day of July, 1899, and published in Government Notification No. 435 of 1899, is hereby amended by the substitution of the words "No licences shall be issued for more than 1,000 jinrickshas within the City of Victoria" for the words "no licences shall be issued for more than 600 jinrickshas within the island of Hongkong."

Regulation No. 3 is amended by the addition at the cud thereof of the following

words:-

"Jinrickshas shall be divided into two classes. Those in the first class shall have

white washable covers and rubber tyres, and shall be of such pattern, size and weight as may be approved by the Captain Superintendent of Police." The Table of Fares in the schedule to the regulations is amended by the substitution for the Table "Jinrickshas I" of the following Table :-

The regulation made by the Governor-in-Council on the 19th day of October, 1906, and published in Government Notification No. 889 of 1906, is cancelled.

No. 675.—It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-in-Council has given directions for the rescission of Proclamations Nos. 5 and 6 of 1907, declaring Singapore and Shanghai to be ports or places at which an infectious on contagious disease prevails, and that the same are hereby rescinded.
