The following mode of sounding the Fire-bells, as a means of denoting the scene of a Fire, has been approved by His Excellency The Lieutenant-Governor, and is published for general information;

viz.:

Eastern District.

From the East to Murray Barracks,.

....by a Single Stroke at a time.

Central District.

From Murray Barracks to the Harbor Master's Office,. by a Double Stroke at a time.

Western District.

From Harbor Master's Office to the extreme West,...by a Treble Stroke at a time. By Command,
