THE HONGKONG GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, 26TH OCTOBER, 1872.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

An Overseer of Works is required in the Surveyor General's Department.

He must have a knowledge of building, and must have served his apprenticeship at a trade. Application must be made personally, for further particulars and terins, at the Office of the Surveyor General.

Owners of Tenements assessed to the Police, Lighting, Water and Fire Brigade Rates, are informed that the Rates for the Fourth Quarter of the year 1872 are payable in advance, during and within the month of October next.

Rate-payers are requested to take notice that Parties in default in payment of Rates after the period specified, are liable to be sued in the Court of Summary Jurisdiction.
