SIR,-I have the honour to inform you that, in deference to your representations, the channel for Ocean Steamers entering this port by the Blenheim Passage has been recently deepened, widened and made more practicable by the erection of two wooden beacons, painted white and surmounted by a black disc 2 feet in diameter, on the north side of the Barrier, off Haddington Island. A scale to show the depth of water is affixed to each Beacon, and lights will be shown at night to indicate the passage, which is now 100 feet wide and 11 feet deep at low water.
