GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

Tenders will be received at the Registrar General's Office up to Noon of Monday the 17th June, for the Privilege of preparing and selling Prepared Opium within this Colony for Six Months from the 1st July, 1872, under the conditions set forth in Ordinance No. 2 of 1858, and in the Additional Regulations of the 27th July, 1869.

Each Person tendering must produce a Receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the Sum of $1,000 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which Sum will be forfeited to the Crown, if such Person shall fail to carry out his Tender.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any Tender.

Tenders will be received at this Office up to Noon of the 3rd proximo, for photographing, from time to time, when required, Prisoners of Victoria Gaol.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

It is hereby notified that Sailing "Chinese Passenger Ships" will not be granted Licenses, under the provisions of Ordinance No. 4 of 1870, to leave Hongkong during the months from April to September both inclusive, for the undermentioned Places; namely:-

AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, OCEANIA,

and TASMANIA.

POST OFFICE NOTICE.

It is hereby notified that henceforward the Postage on Letters addressed to Bermuda will be 40 cents for each half ounce when forwarded viâ Brindisi, and 34 cents for each half ounce when forwarded via Southampton.

The Postage may either be prepaid, or it may be left to be collected on delivery of the Letters.
