to Criminal Procedure: Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:
Amendments.
I. If it shall become necessary at any Time for any Purpose Verdicts and whatsoever to draw up a formal Record in any Case where any Judgments Amendment shall have been made under the Provisions of Ordi- valid after nance No. 3 of 1865, such Record shall be drawn up in the Form in which the Information was after such Amendment was made, without taking any Notice of the Fact of such Amendment having been made.

II. No Information for any Offence shall be held insufficient for Informations Want of the Averment of any Matter unnecessary to be proved, not to be held nor for omitting to state the Time at which the Offence was com- insufficient for mitted in any Case where Time is not of the Essence of the Offence, Omissions, &c. nor for stating the Time imperfectly, nor for stating the Offence to have been committed on a Day subsequent to that of the Infor- mation, or on an impossible Day or on a Day that never happened, nor for Want of the Statement of the Value or Price of any Matter or Thing, or the Amount of Damage, Injury, or Spoil in any Case where the Value or Price or the Amount of Damage, Injury, or Spoil, is not of the Essence of the Offence.

JAVA SEA.
DANGERS OFF THE SOUTH-EAST COAST OF SUMATRA.
The following dangers off the south-east coast of Sumatra appear on a Dutch chart (Java Zee en aangrenzende vaarwaters, blad 1, 1870), published by the Hydrographic Department, Batavia, and are inserted in the Admiralty charts.
Ocean Mail, marked with 18 feet and 7 and 8 fathoms all round, is situated 11 leagues to the eastward of the Toelang or Tulang river on the coast of Sumatra, in lat. 4° 18′ S., and long. 106° 26′ E.
Comara, a shoal danger of doubtful existence with 7 fathoms close to, placed about 9 leagues to the north-west of the North Watcher, and 7 leagues from the coast of Sumatra, in lat. 4° 49′ 30′′ S., and long. 106° 14′ 30′′ E.
Clifton, marked with 18 feet and 24 to 27 feet to seaward, is situated about 9 miles to the eastward of Cape Scopong or Supong on the coast of Sumatra, in lat. 4° 56′ S., and long. 106° 3' E.
