GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
REWARD OF 250 DOLLARS.
Whereas certain evilly-disposed Persons have maliciously cut the Cable of the Great Northern Telegraph China & Japan Extension Company, within the vicinity of this Colony, and have stolen a considerable portion thereof:-
Notice is hereby given that a Reward of Two hundred and Fifty Dollars will be paid to any Person or Persons who shall give such informaton as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the Offenders.
A Free Pardon will be granted to any Person implicated in the Crime, who may give such information, provided he be not the actual Perpetrator.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.
Tenders will be received at this Office, until Noon on the 15th Instant, for the supply of Plumbing Material and Labour required by the Government, during the Seven Months, from 1st of June, to 31st December, 1872.
Schedules and proper Forms of Tender may be obtained at the Surveyor General's Office. The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any Tender.

NOTICE.
To Consignees, Masters and others in charge of Merchant Vessels.
I. On or before the 1st June proximo, all Ships, with the following exceptions, shall be moved over to the North side of the Harbour, mooring them properly with 45 fathoms on each Chain, the Anchors lying in an E.N.E. and W.S.W. direction from each other.
II. The Southern line of this Anchorage is the North extremity of Hongkong, shut in with the South extremity of the Kowloon Peninsula, bearing E. by S. The Top-gallant Masts and Yards are to be on Deck and Flying Jib-boom in; a Spare Anchor should be ready for letting go, and the Hawse kept clear.
III. Vessels discharging or taking in cargo, and Hulks and Receiving Ships may, with permission, lie
on the South shore.
Note.-The Masters of Ships taking advantage of Article III, and those whose Vessels lie alongside
Wharves and Jetties, are to understand that they do so at their own risk.

POST OFFICE NOTICE.
It is hereby notified that the rates of postage henceforth chargeable on Letters addressed to the United Kingdom and to places beyond the United Kingdom when forwarded by French Packet will be the same as those chargeable on Letters forwarded by British Packet viâ Brindisi.
