No. 635.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to direct that the posts of Assistant Superin- tendent of Police and Police Magistrate in the New Territories shall be amalgamated and that EDWIN RICHARD HALLIFAX shall continue to perform the duties of such posts under the title of District Officer.
