14. They shall cause each patient, on admission, to bathe and dress in Hospital clothing and shall return the patient's own clothes to the keeper of the brothel to which she belongs. They shall see that no unseemly behaviour occurs in the wards.
15. They shall assist the Apothecary in administering medicines, &c., and in arranging the women for inspection.
16. They shall not absent themselves from the Hospital without leave from the Visiting Surgeon, and in the absence of the Apothecary shall not admit into the Hospital any person without proper authority.
FOR THE OTHER ATTENDANTS.
17. They shall wash and clean the wards, latrines, &c., and obey the lawful orders of the Apo- thecary and Matrons.
FOR VISITORS, &c.
18. Unless authorised by the Ordinance, no person shall enter the Lock Hospital without the permission of the Apothecary.
19. Visitors to patients will be allowed admission between the hours of 11 A.M. and 2 P.M., and then only by permission of the Apothecary, who shall satisfy himself that they are proper persons for admission. They shall be allowed to see patients only in the hall or waiting room.
20. They shall not introduce any article of food, clothing, &c., into the Hospital, without per- mission from the Visiting Surgeon, and shall behave themselves in an orderly manner at the Hospital. 21. No Visitors are allowed to be admitted to the wards without the sanction of the Visiting Surgeon.

Regulations made by the Inspector of Hospitals, in pursuance of Section XXXVII of Ordinance No. 10 of 1867, for the management and government of the Lock Hospital as far as regards Women authorised to be detained for Medical Treatment.
FOR THE PATIENTS.
1. Patients shall not leave the Hospital, on any account, without special permission given in writing by the Visiting Surgeon.
2. They are strictly prohibited from receiving from outside any money, food, medicine, clothing, or other articles, except such as are permitted by the Visiting Surgeon, who will give his sanction in writing in the Order Book.
3. They shall behave in a decent and quiet manner, obeying all lawful orders of the Apothecary and Matrons.
4. They shall abstain from the use of all bad language and indecent conduct towards the Officers of the Hospital and towards each other.
5. All loud noises and disturbances of any kind are prohibited.
6. They must not injure any part of the Hospital property.
7. All injuries shall be made good at the expense of the keeper of the Brothel to which the offending patient belongs.
8. Smoking is allowed only between the hours of 10 A.M. and 9 P.M., and then only in the Verandahs.
9. Patients shall take all medicines ordered for them and shall not obstruct the Apothecary in
carrying out any of the remedial measures ordered by the Visiting Surgeon.
10. No money is to be offered or given to any of the employés of the Hospital.
11. Any patient committing a breach of these regulations will be punished.
12. All complaints must be made to the Visiting Surgeon when he visits the Hospital.
