The following Notice to Mariners, received from. His Excellency the Governor of Macao, is published for general information.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

The Notice published on the 2nd October, 1865, in the Official Boletim, No. 40 of that year, is reproduced, as the "Guia Fort" Lighthouse, which was destroyed by the Typhoon of the 23rd Sep- tember, 1874, has been rebuilt and has commenced working regularly since the night of the 23rd instant.

The Lighthouse is in Latitude 22° 11' N., Longitude 113° 33′ E. of Greenwich.

The focal plane of the light is 101.5 metres above sea level during the highest tides in calm weather.

The tower of the light measures 13.5 metres from its base to the summit, is of circular form, and is painted white. The lantern is red.

The light is white and revolving, making a complete revolution in 64". It can be seen at a distance of 20 miles in clear weather.

At this distance the duration of light is of 6′′, and that of eclipse of 58′′.

At 15 miles distance, the light is scen during 10", and the eclipse lasts 54".

At 12 miles, the greatest flash of light lasts 12", and the interval of eclipse (of 52") is interrupted by the appearance, almost momentary, of a weaker light.

At 7 miles, the duration of the great light is of 14", and that of eclipse of 50′′, the latter being interrupted by the momentary appearance of the small light.

NOTICE.

Owners of Tenements assessed to the Police, Lighting, Water, and Fire Brigade Rates, are hereby informed that the Rates for the Fourth Quarter of the year 1875, are payable in advance, during and within the Month of October next.

It is particularly requested that such Rates may be paid before the 31st of October, as after that date application will be made to the Supreme Court for the recovery of arrears.
