Hainan Head, South Channel.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 28th instant the S.S. Namwan struck and became a total wreck on the 12 Fathom Bank, bearing E. 9° S. distance 10-75 cables from Hainan Head Beacon or about N. 72° E. distance 3 cables off Hainan Head Bank Buoy.

Mariners are warned to be careful when approaching the Hainan Head Bank Buoy as wreckage may be floating around. Also to keep the Hainan Head Bank Buoy on their port side approaching from Hainan Head, on the starboard side when approaching from Mofu Point.

Approach to the Yung River.

Square Island Light-Station-Characteristics of Fog Signal to be changed.

NOTICE is hereby given that on and after 1st January, 1921, the characteristics of the fog signal operated at quare Island Light-Station, approach to the Yung River, will be changed from a fog bell struck once every 15 seconds to a responsive fog-gun signal of the following characteristics:-

When a vessel's fog signal is heard a warning gun will be fired, and 5 minutes later a distinguishing signal consisting of two guns fired with an interval of 2 minutes between them. This distinguishing signal of two guns will be repeated every 5 minutes if the vessel's fog signal, showing that she is under way, continues to be heard.
