PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency JOHN GARDINER AUSTIN, Administrator and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.

Whereas by Section X of Ordinance No. 13 of 1875, entitled-An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice of the Legislative Council thereof, for consolidating and amending the law relating to the speedy recovery of Crown Debts for Rents and for Assessments, Fees and Forfeitures, - it is enacted as follows:-

"This Ordinance shall take effect upon a day to be hereafter proclaimed by the Governor: Now, therefore, I, JOHN GARDINER AUSTIN, Administrator of the Colony of Hongkong, in pursuance of the said Section and by virtue of the Authority thereby in me vested, do hereby under my Hand Proclaim, that the said Ordinance shall commence and take effect on and from the Eighteenth Day of September, 1875.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

Copy of Telegram received from the Government at Calcutta.

"The Floating Light Vessel stationed at the entrance of the Mutlah River which was removed in May last, has been re-placed, in the following position:-Latitude, 21° 04′ North; Longitude, 88° 48′ East in Eleven fathoms."

No. 17 OF 1873.

ORDER

Made by His Excellency the Administrator in Council, this 1st day of September, 1875.

By virtue of the provisions of the above mentioned Ordinance, it is ordered,—

That Ships plying daily or every other day between Hongkong, Canton, or Macao, and entering Hongkong by night, be required to pay one-third only of the duty of one cent per ton imposed upon them by the Order in Council of the 30th March, 1875.
