Canton District.
LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS, No. 159.
Canton Harbour. New Electric Cable Crossing Front Reach. NOTICE is hereby given that an Electric cable is about to be laid across the Front Reach of Canton Harbour.
The cable will leave the Canton shore at a point near the Mission Buildings (*), will cross the river on a line about 300 feet to the Eastward of the Dutch Folly Rock Buoys, and, will land on the Honam shore at a point near Seung Kung Hong (相公巷)
At the points at which the cable will land on the Canton and Honam shores sign boards have been erected bearing the words "CABLE HERE" in English; and 下有電綫不許下錨
TALTHF in Chinese. The sign boards are illuminated at night by two
white lights, shaded riverward, placed horizontally over the inscription. In addition the Canton shore sign exhibits a red light; and the Honam shore sign a green light.
Those in charge of vessels, of whatsoever type, are specially requested to exercise
the utmost care hereafter not to drop anchor on, or near, the line between the two sign boards.
