to authorize the Appropriation of a Supplementary Sum not exceeding One hundred and Fifty thousand Dollars to defray the Charges of the Year 1874.

HEREAS it has become necessary to make further provision Preamble.
for the public service of the Colony for the year 1874, in addition to the charge upon the revenue for the service of the said year already provided for in the Estimates submitted to the Legis- lative Council: Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

I. A sum not exceeding one hundred and fifty thousand Supplementary dollars shall be and the same is hereby charged upon the revenue Estimates, of this Colony for the service of the year 1874, the said sum so charged being expended as hereinafter specified; that is to say:-

HEREAS it is expedient that certain days in the year
W should be declared Public Holidays and Bank Holidays respectively: Be it therefore enacted by the Governor of Hong- kong, with the advice of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

Preamble.
I. The several days mentioned in schedule A to this Ordinance Certain days annexed (hereinafter referred to as Public Holidays) shall, in to be Public
