PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency JOHN GARDINER AUSTIN, Administrator and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.
Whereas the Commands of Her Most Gracious Majesty The QUEEN, conveyed through the Right Honourable The EARL OF CARNARVON, Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, have been received, approving of and confirming the following Ordinances; namely:---
No. 2 of 1875, entitled-An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, for the better Protection of Chinese Women and Female Children, and for the Repression of certain Abuses in relation to Chinese Emigration;
No. 3 of 1875, entitled-An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the Advice of the Legislative Council thereof, to render Personation with intent to deprive any Person of any Property Felony :
Now, therefore, it is hereby declared, that the said Ordinances have been so approved and confirmed, as aforesaid.

The Minutes of the Council held on the 18th March, 1875, are read and confirmed.
The Honorable the Acting Colonial Secretary brings up the Report of the Special Committee appointed
to enquire and report concerning the Marriage Registry Bill, which is as follows:--
