The shoal of 26 feet lies S. by W. W. distant 4 miles from the east point of Sibaroe, or in lat. 5° 8′ 30′′ S., long. 117° Note. A passage, in which 27 fathoms has been found, exists between Trinidad shoal and Sibaroe island, and vessels can pass in safety about 2 miles from Sibaroe island.

JAPAN-NIPON, SOUTH COAST.
(1) Sunken Rock off Oö-sima.
The following information has been received from Captain St. John, R.N., commanding 1.M. Surveying Vessel Sylvia, relative to the Kami-Seh rock, lying off Oo-sima, south coast of Nipon, and heretofore reported as having 4 fathoms on it; viz.--
The rock lies N.E. E. distant 12 miles from Oö-sima lighthouse, and has 16 feet on it at low-water springs, with 17 and 19 fathoms close to.
NOTE.-Itsimo-sima just touching Omi-saki rock, bearing W. & N., leads well south of the Kami-Seh rock.
CHINA, EAST COAST-RIVER HAN.
(2) Sunken Rock in Port of Swatow.
Information has been received from Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Shadwell, K.C.B., Commander-in-chief, China Station, of the existence of a sunken rock lying off Kakchio, Port of Swatow, and recently been examined by Commander Cameron, H.M.S. Hornet.
This rock (Madras rock) has 8 feet water on it at low water springs, and lies with-

POLICE NOTIFICATION.
Permission is given, under Ordinance 10 of 1872, for Crackers to be fired between 4 P.M. on the 5th February, and 9 P.M. on the 6th February, 1875.
After 9 P.M. on the 6th, the Police will have strict orders to summon or arrest persons firing Crackers.
