PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency Sir Jonx POPE HENNESSY, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished ler of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of tingkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.

Whereas by the “ Chinese Passenger's' Act, 1855" (Imperial), it was among other things provided it should be lawful for the Governor of Hongkong to declare by Proclaination for the purposes of at said Act what should be deemed to be the duration of the voyage of any Chinese Passenger Ship.

Now, therefore, I, Sir JOHN POPE HENNESSY, do, by this my Proclamation, for the purposes

of the said Act, declare that the following shall be the rule of computation by which the length of the yage of any Chinese Passenger Ships of the classes herein specified shall be computed, and that so h of previous rules as complied with this rule shall cease to have effect, viz.:-at any time of r. for steam vessels the duration of the voyage from Hongkong to Manila or from Amoy to Manila l be computed at less than 7 days.
