This position is 1 mile South of that shown on the present charts. The Island is 102 feet high, with a few pandanus ses on the highest part; a sand-spit covering at high-water extends a quarter of a mile West of it. This island is
expanded by a coral reef upwards of a mile in extent, with 17 to 28 fathonis at a cable's distance.
the sandanks shown on the chart bearing E.N.E. 64 miles, and N.E. by N. 71⁄2 miles respectively from K Island, ho got wait, there being 27 to 29 fathoms on the positions assigned to them. The foul ground shown in the charts as xes NW. 14 miles from K. Island is also an error, as the ledge only extends half-a-mile to the N.W. side of that tumord, tan K.Il sale being steep to.

Troy fucka are also steep to, and the reef reported half-a-mile off their N.W, extreme does not exist. There are a tathoms close round these rocks. The dry sand marked on the chart as having been seen by Captain potere la brukt is (if miles W.S.W. of its true position.

mer et a'mils South of the Cape is another detached rock covering at half-flood. 1 miles South of Cape 290 to sauntings of 15 fathoms on the chart, is a shoal of 3 fathoms; its vicinity is marked by strong tide rips. betarse of à miles N.W. of North Repulse Island, and somewhat less than a mile from the shore, are two reefs e at ralf-bed, with from 3 to 5 fathoms close to.
