Governor and Commander-in-Chief.
By His Excellency Sir JoиN POPE HENNESSY,
Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong-
kong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.
Whereas a despatch has been received from the Right Honourable The Earl of KIMBERLEY, HER MAJESTY'S Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, conveying to me HER MAJESTY'S Gracious Confirmation and Allowance of the following Ordinance; namely :-
No. 3 of 1881.-" The Penal Ordinances
Amendment Ordinance, 1881.”
Now, therefore, it is hereby Proclaimed, that
the said Ordinance has been so confirmed and allowed as aforesaid.
