The following notices have been issued during the month :-
On the 15th at 12.20 p.- "The barometer has fallen slightly to moderately over the China coast, S. Japan and the Loochoos, and risen in Central China. A depression is moving Eastwards in the Yellow Sea, and there are some indications of the existence of a Fresh variable second area of low pressure over the Pacific to the S.E. of the Loochoos. winds may be expected in the Formosa Channel, and light to moderate monsoon over the N. part of the China Sea." Forecast :- "S.W. to W. winds, light or moderate; fair."
On the 16th at 12.10 p.-" The barometer has fallen generally, particularly over Formosa and the S. coast of China. The depression in the North which has probably The deepened, appears to be still situated between the E coast of China and W. Japan. Japanese returns are, however, not yet to hand. A second low area, apparently shallow, has developed over Formosa and the Channel. Unsettled, squally weather is indicated in the Formosa Channel and along the S. coast of China." Forecast:-"W. and variable winds, moderate or fresh; squally, thunder showers.”
