HONGKONG, 23rd March, 1882.
SIR,-I am in receipt of your letter of 20th instant, and for the information of liis Excellency the Administrator I have the pleasure to tell you that my Directors have authorised me to arrange for the free transmission of a daily weather report from Manila to Hongkong and vice versa. The first was received from the Director of the Manila Observatory yesterday evening, and a copy has been forwarded to Captain THOMSETT with a request that I may be furnished with similar observations for transmission to Manila.
