The following sketch represents the isobars drawn for every touth of an inch from 28.90 to 29, both inclusive. The direction of the wind is shown by arrows, which fly with the wind. The of the wind as interpolated from the observations is shown in figures (1-12). The scale is 13 in to 100 nautical miles. The sketch shows, that the air moved in incurving spirals:-

The greatest damage was done in Amoy, where this Typhoon was the cause of great loss of life and property, although the wind did not attain full Typhoon force, except perhaps in gusts.
