The following letter from Her Britannic Majesty's Consul at Tamsuy, is published for general formation.

H. B. M.'s CONSULATE,
SIR,-I have the honour to state, for the information of His Excellency the Governor of Hongkong,
TAMSUY, 16th April, 1885. that the blockade of this port was to-day raised by order of the French Government, and that vessels coming to Tamsuy will, owing to the obstructions laid by the Chinese in the entrance to the harbour, Lave to anchor for the present outside the bar.
