No. 585. It is hereby notified that His Excellency Sir REGINALD EDWARD STUBBS, K.C.M.G., has been pleased to accept the position of Honorary Colonel of the Hongkong Volunteer Defence Corps.

No. 586. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to recognise Mr. WILLIAM EGBERT SHENCK as Vice-Consul of the United States of America in Hongkong.

No. 587.--It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor in Council has, under section 7 of the Holidays Ordinance, 1912, Ordinance No. 5 of 1912, appointed Friday, the 11th day of November, 1921, to be observed as a General Holiday, in substi- tution for the Monday which falls on or nearest to the ninth day of November.
The following Public and General Holidays will be observed as Government Holidays in 1921:

It is hereby further notified that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to exclude the Police Magistrates' Department from the operation of the Holidays Ordinance, 1912, Ordinance No. 5 of 1912, on the 1st January, 26th and 28th March, 16th May, 1st August, 10th October, and 26th December.
