APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 256. Ilis Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. PHILIP PEVERIL JOHN WODEHOUSE, C.I.E., to act as Captain Superintendent of Police and Mr. THOMAS HENRY KING to act as Deputy Superintendent of Police, with effect from the 27th April, 1920.

No. 257. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, the Honourable Mr. PERCY HOBSON HOLYOAK to be an Unofficial Member of the Executive Council during the absence from the Colony of the Honourable Sir CATCHICK PAUL CHATER, Kt., C.M.G., with effect from this date.

No. 258. The King's Exequatur empowering Mr. ARNE SCHOL SORENSEN to act as Norwegian Consul in Hongkong has received His Majesty's signature.

No. 259. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under the provisions of section 10 of the Medical Registration Ordinance, 1884, Ordinance No. 1 of 1884, Mr. CHARLES ALEXANDER HOOPER to be a Member of the Medical Board, rice Mr. HERBERT JOHNSON GEDGE resigned, for a term of three years, with effect from the 6th May, 1920.

With reference to Notification No. 6 which appeared in the Gazette of the 3rd January, 1919, it is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to revoke the appointment of Mr. Edward DudleY CORSCADEN WOLFE to be a Member of the Legislative Council, with effect from the 27th April, 1920,

No. 261.-Iis Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint. Mr. Edward ALEXANDER IRVING provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure to be an Official Member of the Legislative Council, with effect from the 27th April, 1920.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, Mr. ARTHUR RYLANDS LOWE to be an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council during the absence from the Colony of the Honourable Mr. HENRY EDWARD POLLOCK, K.C., or until further notice, with effect from the 6th May, 1920.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under section 19 of the Public Health and Buildings Ordinance, 1903, Ordinance No. I of 1903, Acting Inspector 107 ALFRED FLOYD to be a Sanitary Inspector for Shaukiwan, rice Inspector PETER ANGUS on leave, with effect from 17th April, 1920.

No. 264. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. MICHAEL JAMES BREEN to act as Postmaster General during the absence on leave of Mr. STEWART BUCKLE CARNE Ross or until further notice, with effect from the 6th May, 1920.
