PROCLAMATIONS.

By His Excellency Sir REGINALD EDWARD STUBBS Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.

Whereas by the twenty-eighth section of the Volunteer Ordinance 1920 it is enacted that the Volunteer Ordinance 1893 and the Volunteer Reserve Ordinance 1910 shall be repealed as from and after such date as may be proclaimed by the Governor :

And whereas a volunteer corps has this day been formed under the Volunteer Ordi- nance 1920 and it is therefore expedient that such date should be proclaimed :

Now Therefore I Sir REGINALD EDWARD STUBBS Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same do hereby proclaim the 26th day of March 1920 as the date from and after which the Volunteer Ordinance 1893 and the Volunteer Reserve Ordinance 1910 shall be repealed.

Rale made by the Governor in Council under section 10 of the Liquors Consolida- tion Ordinance, 1911, Ordinance No. 9 of 1911, this 25th day of March, 1920.

The rules made by the Governor in Council for the election of Justices of the Peace to serve on the Licensing Board and published on pages 286 and 287 of the Regulations of Hongkong, 1914, are hereby amended by deleting in rule 3 of the said rules the words Every nomination shall be personally handed to the Magistrate by the candidate or by his nominator or seconder.”
